Robert Moore will be interviewed about his latest book Hard Pressed by Peter Goers on Friday, November 15 on ABC 891 at 8pm. Marianne Musgrove’s children’s novel The Beginner’s Guide to Revenge was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards 2013 (upper primary category) and the 2013 Children’s Peace Literature Award (Older Readers).

Janeen Brian’s book Eddie Pipper was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards 2013 (lower primary category).  Her picture book I’m a Dirty Dinosaur, illustrated by Ann James, will be published in USA by Kane Miller in 2014 and has been selected as one of Dymocks: 50 BOOKS YOU CAN’T PUT DOWN. Janeen toured Tasmania, NT and Alice Springs as part of the Get Reading 2013! project. Oriental Babies & Kids Limited have secured the Chinese Simple rights for I’m a Dirty Dinosaur—first print run, 20,000 copies!

Ruth Starke’s and Greg Holfeld’s comic serial Captain Congo: The Perils of Pug will feature in all editions of The School Magazine throughout 2014.

Rosanne Hawke’s YA novel The Messenger Bird won the 2013 Cornish Holyer an Gof award for YA fiction and also the inaugural Ann Trevenen Jenkin Cup for children’s and YA literature.

Mandy Foot’s Captain Kangaroo and the Footy Final, published by Hachette Australia, is now available in bookstores and online in hardback and paperback version (the paperback comes with its own snap cards!)

Claire Richards is exhibiting at the Mitcham Council Chambers Foyer Gallery, 131 Belair Road, Torrens Park. The exhibition runs from the 29th October – 2nd December and gallery Opening times are Monday – Friday, 9 – 5. Artists include: Ali Durham, Sarah Hnarakis, Polina Kniazeva, Claire Richards, Robin Tatlow-Lord, Nino Trentinella and Janet Trotta.
