Katrina Germein‘s picture book My Dad Thinks He’s Funny, illustrated by Tom Jellett, will be released in America on April 9 and Toys R Us will be featuring it in their autographed books program around Father’s Day.
Janeen Brian read her two new picture books I’m a dirty dinosaur and Meet Ned Kelly at Kids’ Day on Sunday 4th March 2013 as part of the Adelaide Writers’ Week. I’m a dirty dinosaur was also selected as part of the Australian Illustrators’ Exhibition to travel to Beijing, South Korea and Bologna. Duck Down (SOLO series, published by Scholastic) will be reprinted for the seventh time in August/September 2013.
Ruth Starke‘s essay on Don Dunstan, ‘Media Don’ for which she won the Patrons’ Fellowship, is in the current edition of Australian Book Review. At 11,000 words it is the longest essay ABR has ever printed. Ruth and Kerryn Goldsworthy will be ‘In Conversation’ about Don Dunstan and the media at Flinders Library, Noel Stockdale Room, on Friday 15 March 3.30 – 5 pm. Wine and nibbles. Free admission.
